PARKVILLE, MD—Lady Luck paid a welcome visit on Wednesday night, as a Powerball ticket delivered a $50,000 prize to one lucky Maryland Lottery player.
Even though no one hit the $147 million jackpot, there were 13,193 winning tickets sold in Maryland for Wednesday’s drawing, with prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000.
The winning numbers were 7, 14, 17, 57 and 65; the Powerball was 24 with a Power Play multiplier of 5. The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky players who bought a winning ticket worth $50,000 at Harford Road Shell located at 6708 Harford Road (21234). There have now been 23 Powerball tickets worth at least $50,000 sold in Maryland during 2020.
Lottery officials recommend that the winners sign the backs of their tickets and keep them in a safe location until claiming their prizes. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, officials have temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
The $50,000 winners can claim the prizes by mail or in person by appointment at the Lottery Customer Resource Center. Get details on how to claim by mail here or schedule an appointment here.
The Powerball jackpot rolled to $158 million for the Saturday, August 8 drawing. The cash option is $130.3 million. The last jackpot was hit July 25 in Nebraska.
