Hurricane Isaias projected path could impact Maryland next week

UPDATE: As of Thursday night, Isaias has been upgraded to hurricane status.

NOTTINGHAM, MD—A new tropical storm could impact that Maryland area by early next week.

Tropical Storm Isaias formed on Thursday morning and is currently taking aim at Florida, but the National Hurricane Center’s projected path shows that the system will then make a northward turn and head up the coast.

There is a risk of impact from winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surge along portions of the East Coast beginning this weekend in Florida and northward to the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic states by early next week.

The current track shows that Tropical Storm Isaias could be right off of the Maryland coastline by early Tuesday morning.

Residents should stay tuned to their local forecast.
