Man seriously injured in Perry Hall dog attack

PERRY HALL, MD—A Honeygo Village resident was attacked and seriously injured by a dog on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred on Scott Moore Way near Strawbridge Terrace at around 1:30 p.m.

The dog, a pit bull owned by another Honeygo Village resident, was reportedly being let out of the front door of its home on Strawbridge Terrace by a dog sitter when it attacked the person passing by on the Scott Moore Way sidewalk between Highs and Weis.

Several people, including a Weis employee and several other residents, heard screaming and came to the aid of the injured man.

The dog sitter was reportedly able to get the dog back into the house while the man’s injuries were assessed and tended to.

Two Baltimore County Police Department officers and a Baltimore County Fire Department ambulance responded.

Police took a report and the resident was transported via ambulance to a hospital with multiple bite injuries.

The resident that was attacked later shared with his neighbors in a private Facebook group that he was still in the hospital and would require several surgeries, including on his face and on one hand.

There is no word on what is being done with the dog at this time.
