ZIP CODE REPORT: Maryland COVID-19 hospitalizations fall by double digits

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Maryland Department of Health on Friday reported that statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations decreased by double digits over the past 24 hours.

As of Friday morning, there have been 71,910 cases of novel coronavirus in Maryland.  The statewide positivity rate is now at 4.34%, a decrease from Thursday’s 4.53%.  Baltimore County’s positivity rate now stands at 4.67%, a slight increase from Thursday’s 4.62%.

There have been 3,172 related deaths and 385 individuals are currently hospitalized…a decrease of 21 patients since Thursday. There have been 549,153 negative test results.

Baltimore County has confirmed 8,581 COVID-19 cases and and 473 deaths (note: “probable” deaths are not included in the totals below).

  • 21128 (Perry Hall) – 75 cases
  • 21162 (White Marsh) – 33 cases
  • 21234 (Hillendale/Parkville/Carney) – 656 cases
  • 21236 (Overlea/Fullerton/Nottingham) – 277 cases

“Maryland’s key COVID-19 metrics continue to trend in a positive direction as the statewide positivity rate reaches a new low of 4.34%,” Governor Larry Hogan said on Friday. “Total current hospitalizations have fallen to 385 and ICU beds are at their lowest level since March 30.”
