ZIP CODE REPORT: Maryland COVID-19 hospitalizations fall again

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Maryland Department of Health on Friday reported that statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations had fallen once again over the past 24 hours.

As of Friday morning, there have been 68,961 cases of novel coronavirus in Maryland.  The statewide positivity rate is now at 4.92%, an increase from Thursday’s 4.76%.  Baltimore County’s positivity rate now stands at 5.56%, a slight decrease from Friday’s 5.66%.

There have been 3,099 related deaths and 422 individuals are currently hospitalized…a decrease of 19 patients since Thursday. There have been 494,873 negative test results.

Baltimore County has confirmed 8,183 COVID-19 cases and and 457 deaths (editor’s note: for the sake of accuracy, “probable” deaths are not included in the totals below).

  • 21162 (White Marsh) – 26 cases
  • 21234 (Hillendale/Parkville/Carney) – 615 cases
  • 21236 (Overlea/Fullerton/Nottingham) – 255 cases

“Maryland has now completed 691,495 COVID-19 tests,” said Governor Larry Hogan on Friday. “Our statewide positivity rate is at 4.92%, and total hospitalizations have declined to 422.”
