ZIP CODE REPORT: Maryland COVID-19 hospitalizations fall for 28th consecutive day

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Maryland Department of Health on Wednesday reported that statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations had dropped for the 28th consecutive day.

As of Wednesday morning, there have been 65,337 cases of novel coronavirus in Maryland.  The statewide positivity rate is now at 5.17%, a slight increase from Tuesday’s 5.06%.

There have been 2,978 related deaths and 544 individuals are currently hospitalized…a decrease of 17 patients since Tuesday.  COVID-19 hospitalizations in Maryland have now fallen for 28  straight days. There have been 425,120 negative test results.

Baltimore County has confirmed 7,652 COVID-19 cases and and 437 deaths while Harford County has confirmed 1,072 cases and 58 deaths (editor’s note: for the sake of accuracy, “probable” deaths are not included in the totals below).

“Today, Allegany County became the sixth jurisdiction to reach our goal of testing 10% of its population,” said Governor Larry Hogan on Wednesday. “We have now tested more than 8% of our population statewide for COVID-19 as counties continue to expand access for Marylanders.”
