Home invasion reported in Essex, shots fired on Rossville Boulevard

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Police are investigating several local crimes that were reported over the past week.

At around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, a resident returned to their residence in the 1400-block of Wentworth Avenue (21234) and found the door ajar. Bank statements were stolen from the victim’s apartment.

At 10 a.m., two individuals, one of whom was armed with a gun, entered a residence in the 1200-block of Sugarwood Circle in Essex (21221) and demanded money. When the victims refused, the suspects assaulted both victims before fleeing the scene. The suspects were later found and arrested.



At just after 1:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22, an individual broke into Bello Vitto’s restaurant, located in the 6000-block of Rossville Boulevard in Essex (21221) and stole cash from the register.

At just before 3:45 a.m. on Monday, an individual broke into the Metro PCS store in the 8700-block of Philadelphia Road in Rosedale (21237). Once inside, the suspect stole several cell phones and fled the scene.

At just after midnight on Tuesday, June 23, an individual fired shots from a vehicle at another motorist traveling northbound in the area of Rossville Boulevard at Square Ridge Road in Rosedale (21237). The suspect then made a U-turn and fled. No injuries were reported.
