NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Maryland Department of Health on Monday reported that statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations had dropped for the 26th consecutive day.
As of Monday morning, there have been 64,603 cases of novel coronavirus in Maryland. The statewide positivity rate is now at 5.03%, unchanged from Sunday. Baltimore County’s positivity rate stands at 6.40%, a decrease from Sunday’s 6.55%. Harford County’s positivity rate stands at 2.29%, a decrease from Sunday;s 2.59%.
There have been 2,945 related deaths and 602 individuals are currently hospitalized…a decrease of 6 patients since Sunday. COVID-19 hospitalizations in Maryland have now fallen for 26 consecutive days. There have been 410,122 negative test results.
Baltimore County has confirmed 7,585 COVID-19 cases and and 432 deaths while Harford County has confirmed 1,060 cases and 58 deaths (editor’s note: for the sake of accuracy, “probable” deaths are not included in the totals below). Of Baltimore County’s 432 COVID-19 deaths, 290 (around 67%) have occurred within nursing home communities.

As of Friday, June 19, Baltimore County and Harford County have each allowed additional reopenings under Stage Two of Governor Larry Hogan’s Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery as indicated in the graphic below.
“Maryland has now conducted 565,298 COVID-19 tests,” Governor Hogan said on Monday. “The statewide positivity rate has dropped to 5.03%, down more than 81% from its April 17 peak. Current total hospitalizations have fallen to 608.”
