NOTTINGHAM, MD—Wednesday will be a hot one in the Baltimore County area.

That National Weather Service says high temperatures are expected to reach low 90s on Wednesday afternoon, with isolated areas in the mid 90s. High moisture values will result in very humid conditions.

On Wednesday, heat index values will likely be in the upper 90s, with a few locations briefly reaching 100.

There is a slight chance for severe storms on Wednesday afternoon.

Residents should take precautions if working or spending time outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Children and pets should not be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. During hot weather, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
