MIDDLE RIVER, MD—A local fire & rescue company is raising funds to buy a new boat.
Middle River Volunteer Fire & Rescue, home of Baltimore County’s only dive rescue team, has established a GoFundMe page to help them purchase a new water rescue vessel.
“Our dive boat has seen better days and we are in need of a replacement,” MRVFR said on Wednesday. “This is a piece of our fleet we desperately need to serve the citizens of Baltimore and surrounding counties. We are alerted for calls not only in Baltimore County but also alerted for mutual aid in Howard, Harford, Carroll, Cecil and other Counties.”
“We operate on donations we receive from the community and citizens of Baltimore County,” officials added. “We may be based in Middle River but respond to any water related incident anywhere in the county.”
As of Wednesday, MRVFR has raised $477 toward its goal of $30,000.
