Harford County to reopen on Friday, May 15th

HARFORD COUNTY, MD—Harford County will reopen on Friday, May 15, in accordance with Governor Larry Hogan’s announcement on Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, Governor Hogan stated that Maryland was ready to initiate Phase 1 of the Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery and that some businesses could begin reopening.

On Thursday, Harford County Executive Barry Glassman issued the following statement:

“I am pleased to announce that in consultation with our health officer, Harford County will reopen on Friday at 5 p.m. as outlined in Gov. Hogan’s Safer at Home advisory. At the same time, all citizens should continue to follow required social distancing and safety precautions to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We have sacrificed to get to this point and we must keep working together to maintain our progress. Be smart, stay safe and God bless. “

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, meanwhile, said on Wednesday night that a decision would be coming “within 24 hours.”
