NOTTINGHAM, MD—Police are on the scene of a Tuesday morning stabbing in Perry Hall/Nottingham that injured at 11-year-old in what authorities are calling a domestic-related assault.
At just before 10:30 a.m., officers responded to the 4200-block of Maple Path Circle (21236), after the boy, 11, ran to a neighbor’s house seeking help after his father reportedly stabbed him in the head with a screwdriver, causing a puncture wound.
The suspect fought with arriving officers, causing a non-life-threatening injury to one officer before he was taken into custody.
The boy was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition. The officer was also transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The identity of the suspect is being withheld pending formal charges.
