TOWSON, MD—The 2020 Towson Fourth of July Parade has been cancelled, officials announced on Monday afternoon.
Just days after it was announced that the annual Towson fireworks display would be cancelled, parade officials have followed suit.
“We are very disappointed that we are going to have to cancel the Towson 4th of July Parade and Race due to the Covid 19 large crowd restrictions and public safety,” parade officials said on Monday. “We are so very grateful for our sponsors and the thousands of people that attended this event each year.”
The Fullerton Fireworks Foundation announced in April that their 2020 Fourth of July fireworks show would be cancelled this year as well.
The Kingsville Independence Day parade has also been cancelled this year to due the coronavirus pandemic.
