Frost Advisory, Freeze Warning issued for Baltimore County

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The unseasonably chilly temperatures will continue overnight as a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory have been issued for the Baltimore area.

The Frost Advisory will be in effect from midnight Saturday night through 10 a.m. on Sunday for southern Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and southeast Harford County.

Temperatures as low as 33 to 36 degrees will result in areas of frost.

The Freeze Warning will also be in effect from midnight to 10 a.m. for northern Baltimore County and northern Harford County.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 to 32 degrees are expected.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

The National Weather Service says residents should take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.

Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
