Four COVID-19 deaths reported at Parkville nursing home

PARKVILLE, MD—Four COVID-19 deaths have been reported at a Parkville nursing home.

Four residents at Genesis Loch Raven Center have died, according to Councilman David Marks, and 46 others have tested positive at the facility.

The novel coronavirus outbreak at Genesis in Parkville was first reported on April 1st.

“Let me begin by expressing sympathies to the families of these four coronavirus victims at the Genesis Loch Raven Center nursing home in my district” said Councilman Marks on Tuesday evening.

“The 46 cases constitute one-third of the 121 individuals who have tested positive for coronavirus in the Parkville ZIP Code,” Marks added. “Simply put, Parkville has the worst outbreak in eastern Baltimore County. It’s also one of our most densely-populated and oldest communities, so these statistics are alarming.”

“Please continue to observe social distancing and respect the rules put in place by health care professionals,” Marks concluded.

Ninety-two residents live at the Emge Road nursing home.
