PARKVILLE, MD—Police in Baltimore County have arrested an 18-year-old and an 11-year-old in connection with a carjacking in Hillendale/Parkville.
At just before 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, officers responded to the 1300-block of Mantle Street (21234) for a carjacking. Officers determined that two suspects walked up to a man who had just parked his car and asked him for directions.
When the victim pulled out his cell phone, the suspects grabbed the phone, demanded money and stole his keys. They stole his vehicle and fled the scene.
At around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, detectives found the vehicle after it was involved in a crash in Baltimore City. The suspects fled and were arrested by police after a brief foot pursuit.
Kevon Darrell Saunders, 18, of the 1500-block of East Lanvale Street (21213), was arrested and charged with robbery, carjacking, and various other charges. Saunders is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status pending a bail review.
An 11-year-old female from Baltimore, a relative of Saunders, was also arrested and charged with felony offenses.
