Wind Advisory issued for Thursday

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Baltimore area.

The advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Westerly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of up to 50 mph are expected.



The advisory will be in effect for the District of Columbia, portions of central and northern Maryland, central, northern, and northwest Virginia, and eastern West Virginia.

Forecasters say gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.

Tree limbs could be blown down and a power outages may result.

Motorists should use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Residents should secure outdoor objects.
