ANNAPOLIS, MD—Health officials have announced Maryland’s first death from COVID-19.
Governor Larry Hogan confirmed the news on Wednesday night.
“It is with profound sadness that I announce the first death in Maryland as a result of the coronavirus pandemic,” said Governor Hogan. “I ask all Marylanders to join me in praying for his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
The deceased is a Prince George’s County man in his 60s who had an underlying medical condition.
The governor will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning.
