White Marsh Mall to increase cleaning frequency of ‘high traffic’ areas

WHITE MARSH, MD—White Marsh Mall is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak, in particular the potential impact within Baltimore County.

Mall officials say they are taking all necessary precautions for the well-being of local shoppers. This includes following guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Maryland Department of Health (MDH).

PREVENTION:

• The CDC guidelines on workplace cleanliness include an increased frequency of cleaning of highly touchable areas throughout a property. White Marsh Mall is disinfecting high traffic areas, including restrooms, food court furnishings, all doors, railings, escalators, elevators, and children’s play areas.

• As an extra precaution, the mall is working with housekeeping vendors to increase the frequency and intensity of cleaning touchable surfaces using a strong disinfectant known to eradicate viruses.

• White Marsh Mall continues to work with management company Brookfield Properties to monitor the situation and the government’s response. If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the shopping center, officials will alert the community and work with local, state, and federal health officials to ensure an appropriate plan is in place to help diminish the spread of the virus.
