Councilman Marks: Downzone property to protect Cromwell Bridge Road area

PARKVILLE, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced on Monday his support for downzoning a publicly-owned property that overlooks Cromwell Valley Park along Cromwell Valley Road.

The 4.9-acre property stretches along the ridge and is currently zoned one house per acre. Coumcilman Marks will support Neighborhood Commons, or open space, zoning.

The zoning issue is #5-074.

Councilman Marks previously downzoned much of the land along the Cromwell Valley that is in his district, on the southern side of Cromwell Bridge Road.

“Our actions over the past three zoning cycles should protect the Cromwell Valley from development and preserve one of the most beautiful corridors in northeastern Baltimore County,” said Councilman Marks.

“We thank Councilman Marks for his work to preserve the Cromwell Valley,” said Mia Walsh, president of the Cromwell Valley Park Council.

The Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the Comprehensive Zoning Map Process on Tuesday, March 24th at 6 p.m. at Perry Hall High School (4601 Ebenezer Road).
