Route 40 shut down in Joppa due to crash

JOPPA, MD—Route 40 has been shut down in the Joppa/Edgewood area.

At around 10:15 p.m. on Friday night, a vehicle struck a utility police bringing power lines down along Pulaski Highway.

The Maryland State Highway Administration advises that Route 40 has been shut down in both directions just west of MD-152.

All lanes are closed due to power lines and a utility pole in the roadway.

Motorists should use an alternate route.
