Nottingham woman bags winning $50,000 Md. Lottery scratch-off at grocery store

NOTTINGHAM, MD—A lucky shopper left her local grocery store with a purchase that is bound to put a smile on anyone’s face — a $50,000 winning Super Ca$h scratch-off from the Maryland Lottery.

The Nottingham resident became the game’s 5th top-prize winner after purchasing the $5 instant ticket at a Giant grocery store in Timonium.

The 69-year-old celebrated with Maryland Lottery staffers in the Winner’s Circle by taking photos of her ceremonial check and sharing her winning story.

The number 26 was the lucky number on her scratch-off that made her $50,000 richer, instantly.

The Baltimore County resident signed the back of her instant ticket and brought it to Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim her prize.

Her lucky retailer is also a winner. The Maryland Lottery will give the Giant located at 2145 York Road in Timonium a bonus of $500, equal to 1 percent of the prize, for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off.
