CARNEY, MD—Construction will finally begin in 2020 on the long-awaited improvements to the intersection of Harford Road and Joppa Road in Carney, according to Councilman David Marks
Initially, the work was set to begin back in 2018, but the delays involved with the opening of the new CVS located at the highly-trafficked intersection prevented the upgrades from being done until this year.
In 2020, the Maryland State Highway Administration will begin development of new lanes on the north side of Joppa Road and western Harford Road to ease mobility through this area.
Beginning in late summer, contractors will work on waterline installation, followed by roadway construction in the spring and summer of 2021.
