MIDDLE RIVER, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Baltimore City and southern Baltimore County.

Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is expected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.

Areas affected include the shoreline in southern Baltimore County and the city of Baltimore.

The advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening until 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning, especially around the time of high tide.

Flooding is expected at the end of Thames Street in Baltimore. Water also is expected to cover the promenade at the dragon boat dock in the Inner Harbor. Minor flooding is also expected in the Bowleys Quarters area, and minor shoreline inundation up to one foot above ground is possible elsewhere.

Tides will be around two to two and a half feet above normal.

The next high tide at Fort McHenry Baltimore is 10:35 p.m. this evening and the next high tide at Bowley Bar is at 11:45 p.m. this evening.
