New police bloodhound dies unexpectedly

TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department’s new bloodhound has died.

On Christmas Eve, BaltCoPD announced the sudden passing of the newest member of their K9 Unit, K9 Rae.

Rae passed away on Monday night from an unexpected medical condition.

Rae, officially named Miss Mutzy Rae Daisy of Baltimore County, began training as a search and rescue bloodhound just four weeks ago.

“Rae made a big impact on us all in the short time she was here,” said police department officials. “She will be missed by all of us, but especially by her family and handler. Thank you, Rae, for your service to Baltimore County.”
