Coastal Flood Advisory issued for Bowleys Quarters area

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Baltimore City and for southern Baltimore County.

The flood advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. Sunday evening until 3 a.m. on Monday.

Locations affected include the shoreline in southern Baltimore County and the city of Baltimore.

Tides are expected to be about 1.5 to 2 above normal.

The next high tide at Baltimore Fort McHenry will be at 10:27 p.m. on Sunday.



The next high tide at Bowley Bar will be at 11:40 p.m. on Sunday.

Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level is possible. At 3.0 feet, flooding is occurring at the end of Thames Street in Baltimore. Water also nearly covers the promenade at the dragon boat dock in the Inner Harbor. At 3.0 feet, water begins encroaching upon yards in the Bowleys Quarters area.

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
