NOTTINGHAM, MD—Mid-Atlantic users of the Waze navigation smartphone app got quite a surprise on Thursday.

It seems many users in the Maryland area received an ‘evacuation zone’ warning upon opening the app.

The alert read, “WARNING: Your destination is in an evacuation zone. Use extreme caution while driving.”

Authorities have confirmed that there are no active evacuation zones in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Waze has since pushed out a fix.
