Baltimore County encourages residents to shop locally with free parking over Thanksgiving weekend [VIDEO]

TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County is making local shopping easier this holiday season with two hours of free metered and pay station parking.

Parking will be free at over 1,500 meters and pay stations throughout Baltimore County over Thanksgiving weekend, November 28 to December 1.

There also will be free parking from December 21 to December 25.

In a video released on Wednesday, County Executive Johnny Olszewski encouraged residents to take advantage of local shopping.

“Our neighborhood businesses help support our local economy and we encourage everyone to get out and shop local on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and throughout the holiday season,” said Olszewski.

Meters will be decorated with red “Seasons Greetings” bags and parking stations will display “Seasons Greetings” messages in Arbutus, Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex, Overlea, Pikesville, Parkville, Stoneleigh, and Towson.
