Juvenile arrested, charged in connection with Dunfield graffiti cases

NOTTINGHAM, MD–Police have arrested and charged a 13-year-old suspect in connection with a number of graffiti incidents in the Dunfield community last week, including graffiti that was sprayed onto a Baltimore County stop sign on Monday evening.

A resident called to report that the stop sign was being vandalized by a group of juveniles as it was happening at around 5 p.m. on Monday.

Officers responded to the scene and located witnesses who helped identify the teen as the same suspect responsible for the graffiti damaging a number of signs, cars, and other property in the area last week.

The teen was located and taken into custody on Monday night.

He has been charged in nine cases of destruction of property.

“The damage throughout the Dunfield area will cost many hours to repair and thousands of dollars to replace,” said Councilman David Marks on Tuesday evening. “Anyone convicted should be held to the highest penalties of the law.”
