Coastal Flood Advisory issued for Bowleys Quarters area

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for portions of Baltimore County.

The advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. on Monday evening until 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Tides in southern Baltimore County and in Baltimore City are expected to be 1.5 to 2 feet above normal.

High tide at Fort McHenry will occur at 11:09 p.m. on Monday night and high tide at Bowley Bar will occur at 12:27 a.m. overnight.

Flooding is expected at the end of Thames Street in Baltimore. Water also is expected to cover the promenade at the dragon boat dock in the Inner Harbor. Minor flooding is also expected in the Bowleys Quarters area, and minor shoreline inundation up to one foot above ground is possible elsewhere.

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
