Much-needed rain to arrive on Wednesday

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Some much-needed rain is set to arrive in the Nottingham area on Wednesday.

On Wednesday and into Thursday, the National Weather Service says an area of low pressure will develop into a coastal storm and spread heavy rain, strong winds, and coastal flooding from the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast.

A low pressure system moving slowly eastward across the Great Lakes region will sweep a cold front across the central to eastern U.S. through Wednesday.

Another front, currently located along the central Gulf Coast into the Southeast, will lift slowly northward through Wednesday morning.

Rain and some thunderstorms are expected to focus along both these fronts.

These systems are forecast to develop into a strong coastal low and bring soaking rains to the Nottingham area on Wednesday.

The rain will likely be heaviest between 2 – 7 p.m.

The precipitation will hopefully alleviate the “moderate drought” conditions the region has been experiencing in recent weeks.
