NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Baltimore City and for the Bowleys Quarters area.
The advisory is currently in effect and will remain in effect until 4 a.m. on Saturday morning as tides are expect to be 2 to 2.5 feet above normal.
The next high tides at Fort McHenry will be at 6:15 p.m. on Friday and at 6:25 a.m. on Saturday morning, and at 6:56 p.m. on Saturday evening. The next high tides at Bowley Bar will be at 7:26 p.m. on Friday night, at 7:38 a.m. Saturday morning, and 8:06 p.m. Saturday evening.
Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is possible. At 3.5 feet, flooding is occurring at the end of Thames Street in Baltimore. Water covers the promenade in the Inner Harbor in multiple locations. At 3.8 feet, water covers yards and approaches homes in the Bowleys Quarters area.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
