Detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed carjacking and kidnapping that occurred on Sunday, September 14th.

Authorities say that, at just after 3:15 p.m., deputies responded to the parking lot of the Food Lion located in the 2200-block of Hanson Road in Edgewood, for a report of an attempted carjacking.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who indicated the suspect had approached her and asked for her to call him a cab before grabbing her arm and attempting to get her into a vehicle. The victim was able to get away and call for help.

The victim was able to escape the vehicle and call 911. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s car.

The suspect has been identified as Devon Allen Odell Scott, 36, of Edgewood. The Warrant Fugitive Unit is actively searching for Scott, who is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Scott’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
