PARKVILLE, MD—An annual tradition lives on in Parkville.
For the past Eight years, volunteers have erected 2,977 flags along Putty Hill Avenue, from Old Harford Road to Harford Road, in honor of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The 2019 Path of Honor monument went up on Friday morning and is ready for Wednesday’s 18th anniversary of that fateful day.
Four American Gold Star Mothers participated in Friday’s event, as well as 100 ROTC cadets from Towson University and Loyola University.
In all, around 150 people participated in creating this year’s path.
The annual event is organized by The Hope and Peace Foundation.
The group will hold its 9/11 Patriot Day ride on Saturday, which will go from Darlington to Parkville.
