Victim’s mother assaulted during Essex robbery, Middle River woman chases purse thief

NOTTINGHAM, MD – Police are investigating several burglaries and robberies that were reported over the past several days.

At about 8:45 p.m. on Friday, July 26, several juveniles chased down a young boy in an attempt to steal his bicycle in the 800-block of Arncliffe Road in Essex (21221).  The suspects then encountered the victim’s mother as they were entering their yard. The suspects then assaulted the victim’s mother and stole her cell phone. The suspects then fled the scene.

Between 6:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, a known individual broke into a home in the 1400-block of Hadwick Drive in Essex (21221) and stole a digital camera, two televisions, an Amazon Fire Stick, Blu-ray player, a game console, and various furniture.



Between 5:00 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, an individual broke into an on Oak Grove Drive in Middle River (21220) via a rear window and damaged several TVs. The suspect also stole two Sony speakers, a necklace, game console, and multiple watches.

Sometime overnight between Sunday, August 4, and Monday, August 5, an individual broke into a shed in the 1700-block of Glen Ridge Road in Parkville (21234), and stole lawn equipment.

At 6:30 a.m. on Monday, August 5, a known individual broke into a residence on Contact Court in Middle River (21220). While inside the home, the suspect stole a purse and ran out the door. The owner of the purse pursued and was assaulted trying to retrieve her stolen purse. A neighbor retrieved the purse from the suspect but was assaulted in the process. The suspect then fled the scene.

Sometime between 4:30 and 7:45 p.m. on Monday, August 5, an individual broke into a home in the 8500-block of Willow Oak Road in Parkville (21234) by unlocking a door through a window and stole a cell phone and a large case of sports drinks.
