NOTTINGHAM, MD – In the wake of two mass shootings over the weekend – one in El Paso, Texas and another in Dayton, Ohio – Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski tweeted the following on Sunday:
“More senseless acts of violence carried out in our country from someone armed with a gun. We must get serious about sensible and reasonable reform to ensure guns are not in the hands of people who continue to use them to carry out despicable acts of violence.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of this latest mass shooting situations.”
Saturday’s shooting in El Paso, Texas killed at least 20 people and is now being treated as a case of domestic terrorism.
Nine people were killed in Dayton, Ohio in a second mass shooting less than 24 hours later.
