Police: bomb scare in Middle River was false alarm

MIDDLE RIVER, MD – A bomb scare in Middle River led to several closed roads and a heavy police presence on Sunday evening.

At around 8 p.m., a suspicious package was found at the Springhill Suites, located at Greenleigh at Crossroads along Route 43.

Many roads were closed in the area, including White Marsh Boulevard, and several nearby apartment complexes were placed on lockdown.

Officers also maintained a perimeter around the hotel.

By about 10 p.m., all roads had been reopened.

On Monday morning, police confirmed to NottinghamMD.com that a suspicious package was indeed found, but a hazardous devices team later determined it to be a gas meter.
