Outdoor learning center vandalized at Kingsville 🏫

KINGSVILLE, MD – Vandals have struck at a school in Kingsville.

Images circulating online Saturday evening depicted a wooden desk at Kingsville Elementary School’s outdoor learning center that had been spray-painted, seemingly with someone’s initials.

“Amazing expensive wood was used to create this desk for our children,” said a representative with the Kingsville Elementary PTA, “and someone has defaced it.”

“Vandalism strikes communities large and small, urban and rural,” said Councilman David Marks. “If you know anything that can lead to the arrest of the criminal who thought it was fun or noteworthy to do this, please contact the BCPS Office of School Safety at 443-809-3172.”

The outdoor classroom had just been completed in June and featured this handcrafted, Brazilian hardwood desk.

“Many Kingsville Elementary PTA volunteers worked extremely hard and donated generously to build a beautiful outdoor classroom for the school,” said BCPS school board member Julie Henn. “(I) stopped by tonight to talk with parents and police and to offer assistance.”
