Carney shooting suspect arrested, charged

CARNEY, MD – Police have identified the suspect responsible for Friday afternoon’s shooting in Carney.

Kai Anthony Warren Barnes, 22, of the unit-block of Shawnee Court (21234), has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and the use of a firearm in a crime of violence.



Detectives were able to determine that the shooting was targeted over an on-going dispute.

Barnes is being held at the Baltimore County Department of Corrections on a denied bail status. A photograph has not been provided by police.

Officers responded to Shawnee Court at just after 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

At the scene, they found an adult male shooting victim who had been shot once in the upper body.

The victim is expected to survive his injuries.
