Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Nottingham area

UPDATE 3: The Thunderstorm Warning has been extended until 5:30 p.m. for Middle River, Bowleys Quarters, White Marsh, Kingsville, Fork, Joppa, and Edgewood.

UPDATE 2: A Flash Flood Warning is also now in effect.

NOTTINGHAM, MD – The National Weather Service in Sterling, VA has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Nottingham area.

The warning will be in effect until 4:45 p.m.

At just before 4 p.m., forecasters were tracking a severe thunderstorm was located over Kingsville, and near Middle River, moving northeast at 15 mph.



Wind gusts are approaching 60 mph. Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles.

Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

Locations impacted include Perry Hall, Rossville, White Marsh, Fallston, Kingsville, Edgewood, Joppatowne, Glen Arm, Fork, Bradshaw, Abingdon, Joppa, and Upper Falls.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
