Confirmed: man shot by police in Rosedale was Windor Mill shooting suspect

ROSEDALE, MD – Authorities have identified the suspect/victim in the police-involved shooting at Duke’s Motel on Saturday night as the same suspect who shot a woman in Windsor Mill earlier that morning.

The deceased suspect has been identified as Kareem Omar Morgan, 43, of the 2000-block of Shore Road (21222).

Morgan died during an exchange of gunfire with police on Saturday night as officers attempted to execute a search and seizure warrant and arrest warrant at the room in which he was staying at Duke’s Motel.

At about 5 a.m. that morning, police had responded to the 1700-block of Winding Brook Way in Windsor Mill when the victim called 9-1-1 after being shot by her ex-boyfriend.

The suspect forced his way into the woman’s townhome, then became involved in a physical altercation with her, during which she was shot at least once in the lower body. The suspect fled the location in a vehicle following the shooting. The woman, 37, was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive her wounds.
