Police investigating Essex area assaults, robberies

ESSEX, MD – Police are investigating various reports of assaults and robberies that were reported in the Essex area on Monday, July 1st.

At 5:30 a.m., while walking in the area of Glenwood Road and Old Eastern Avenue (21221), an individual attempted to rob the victim by going through his pockets. The victim pushed the suspect away and then the suspect assaulted the victim with a knife and fled.



At just after 11 p.m., a man was walking in the area of Old Eastern Avenue at Route 702 (21221) when he was approached by two individuals in a vehicle. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim and stole his cell phone and other miscellaneous items.

Also at just after 11 p.m., two youths were walking in the same area when a vehicle approached. One of the suspects exited the vehicle and robbed one of the youths at gunpoint.
