PERRY HALL, MD – As residents continue to speak out about a proposed wastewater treatment facility at Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, a second public meeting has been scheduled to accommodate those who are unable to attend Tuesday’s meeting.

The issue stems from the fact that the proposal calls for approximately 5,000 gallons per day of treated wastewater, A.K.A. “potable effluent,” to be pumped into an unnamed tributary that feeds into the Little Gunpowder Falls near the Jericho Road covered bridge in Kingsville.

Elected officials in Baltimore County have vehemently opposed the plan.

One public meeting will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, July 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Harford County Public Library – Joppa Branch, located at 655 Towne Center Drive, Joppa, MD 21085.

On Monday, a second public meeting was announced. The second meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the Baltimore County Public Library – Perry Hall Branch, located at 9685 Honeygo Boulevard (21128).

In addition, the public comment period has been extended from July 15th to August 2nd.

Last week, Mountain Christian Church issued a statement clarifying the proposal.
