MDTA Police recover gun, drugs in I-95 traffic stop

BALTIMORE, MD – On Sunday, June 23, the Maryland Transportation Authority Police made an arrest during a traffic stop along Interstate 95. A a 41-year-old Baltimore man was arrested for illegally possessing a gun and drugs.

At about 1:30 p.m., an MDTA Police Officer stopped 41-year-old Baltimore resident Dominic Chase on southbound I-95 in Baltimore County for speeding. Chase was driving a 2018 Nissan Rouge. During a subsequent probable cause search, officers located drugs and a loaded handgun.



Further investigation revealed that Chase is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a gun and ammunition. He was taken into custody without incident.

MDTA Police charged Chase with drug possession and weapons charges including possessing a firearm after being convicted of a felony.

He was taken before a District Court Commissioner and is awaiting a trial date.
