Youths robbed in Parkville, Nottingham; Metro PCS burglarized

NOTTINGHAM, MD – Police are investigating several burglaries and robberies that were reported over the past week.

At just after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, a man on a bicycle pulled up to a woman and her child walking with a cart in a parking lot in the 6400-block of Petrie Way in Rosedale (21237). The suspect bumped into the cart which struck the child. The suspect then reached into the woman’s purse (which was in the cart), stole money from the purse, and then fled on his bike.

At just before 4 a.m. on Friday, June 7, four individuals broke into the Metro PCS store located in the 8700-block of Philadelphia Road in Rosedale (21237) and stole several cell phones.

Sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, nine individuals were spotted in the 8000-block of Duvall Avenue in Rosedale (21237). Half of the group entered the victim’s backyard and broke into the victim’s two sheds. The suspects stole a four wheeler and motorized scooter and then fled.



At 3 a.m. on Saturday, an individual accosted a woman in the area of Old Eastern Avenue and Pelczar Avenue in Essex (21221). The suspect forcibly grabbed the woman’s purse, ripping it from her shoulder. The suspect fled on foot and then threw the handbag on the roadway. The suspect was stopped by police, was positively identified by the victim, and was then arrested.

At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, as a juvenile was riding his bike in the 8600-block of Ellen Court in Parkville (21234), he was approached by seven suspects riding bicycles. One of the suspects approached him and threatened and implied that they had a gun. The suspect then stole the victim’s bike and all of the suspects fled the scene on their bicycles.

At just before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, a group of nine juveniles approached another juvenile in the 8000-block of Belair Road in Nottingham (21236). The suspects physically assaulted the victim and then stole his money, cell phone, and earphones from his pockets. The suspects then fled the scene.

At just after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, an individual on a bike rode past a woman in the 6400-block of Petrie Way in Rosedale (21237). He grabbed the woman’s purse from her hands and left the scene on his bike. All items were recovered.
