Councilman Marks: green space at Mount Vista, Honeygo to be off-limits to solar panels

KINGSVILLE, MD – Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced on Friday that he has secured assurances that Mount Vista Park and the green space at Honeygo Run Regional Park will be off-limits to solar panels.

Baltimore County Government has put out a Request for Proposals to place solar panels on county properties.

At Councilman Marks’ request, the Olszewski administration has amended the Request for Proposals to eliminate Mount Vista Park from consideration, and the solicitation clearly says that the green space at Honeygo Run Regional Park is not an option.

“I would like to thank the County Executive’s staff for altering the Request for Proposal to eliminate these sites,” said Councilman Marks. “I support more solar energy production, but want solar panels installed on rooftops, parking areas, and less productive land.”
