Storm brings wires down in White Marsh, tree blocks traffic in Joppa

News AlertWHITE MARSH, MD – The storms that swept through the Nottingham area on Wednesday evening were brief but packed a punch.

The storm brought power lines down in the White Marsh area.



Reports indicate that several wires are down at the intersection of Honeygo Boulevard at Silver Spring Road.

Reports also indicate that Bird River Grove Road is closed, along with Philadelphia Road (between Route 43 and Cowenton Avenue – with lines down), Philadelphia Road at Joppa Road, and Red Lion Road near Stevens Road.

A tree and power lines are also down at Perry Hall Boulevard and Silver Spring Road.

In the Joppa area, a tree fell into the roadway in the 2600-block of Mountain Road.

The southbound lanes along Mountain Road are currently blocked.

In Fallston, a tree and wires are down in the 2200-block of Pleasantville Road.

Motorists should use alternate routes.
