NOTTINGHAM, MD – Police are investigating several local crimes that were reported this week.
At 1 a.m. on Monday, May 27, an individual entered the Royal Farms store located in the 800-block of South Marlyn Avenue in Essex (21221) and pulled out two handguns. The suspect made the employee open the cash register and give him cash. The suspect then fled on foot.
Sometime between 2 and 8:30 p.m. on Monday, an individual broke into a basement in the 4200-block of Chapel Road in Perry Hall (211238) via a locked door. Once inside, they stole cash then fled the scene.
At just before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, while walking in the 400-block of Edmunds Way in Essex (21221), a juvenile victim was followed by individuals. Both suspects pointed guns at the victim and demanded everything in his pockets. The victim handed over his cell phone and the suspects then fled on foot.
At 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, two individuals approached two juveniles in the area of North Marlyn Avenue and Corby Road in Essex (21221). The suspects each displayed handguns and stole the victim’s cell phones.
At just after 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, four individuals attempted to carjack a victim at gunpoint in the 4900-block of Hazelwood Avenue in Overlea (21206). The suspects then fled the scene.
At 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man parked his car in front of his residence on Emelia Woods Court in Overlea (21206) when he was approached by two armed individuals. They demanded the man’s car keys and then fled the scene in the man’s vehicle.
