Local Boy Scouts collect over 100 bags of groceries for Scouting for Food program

Scouting for Food SIJA local Boy Scouts Troop is giving back to the community in a big way.

Councilman David Marks announced on Saturday that Troop 124 had collected 110 bags of groceries for the pantry at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Carney.



Scouting for Food is an ongoing annual program of the Boy Scouts of America, begun in 1985 by the Greater Saint Louis Area Council.

The program involves collecting for local food banks.

It is organized at the local level throughout the country.

“We live in a generous community,” said Councilman Marks. “Thanks to all who set food out on porches for pickup.”
