The State Highway Administration will soon be making safety improvements along Eastern Avenue in the area of Carroll Island Road in Middle River.
To help reduce crashes in the area, SHA will refresh the longitudinal edge pavement markings and install center line rumble strips along Eastern Avenue, according to Councilwoman Cathy Bevins.
In addition, crosswalks and pedestrian warning signs will be upgraded at the intersections of Eastern Ave and Carroll Island Road and Eastern Ave at Bengies Road.
The upgrades are scheduled to be completed in spring 2019.
The center line rumble strips will be installed along Eastern Avenue between Carroll Island Road and Village Green.
The SHA has also requested that the Baltimore County Police Department conduct priority enforcement in this area to reduce speeding.
